Hair straightener?

I use a my hair straightener every day. i use it at night and before i go to school in the morning. i was wondering if this is going to reallyyyy damage my hair? this is my straightener http://www.ulta.com/control/product/~pro/a>

if it is going to ruin my hair do you have any suggestions on what i can do instead? my hair is naturally really curly, it isn't naturally straight either though.Hair straightener?
Yeah, It's deffinatly going to damage your hair over time. I have noticed that smaller ones don't damage as much but it still will sooner or later. My hair is naturally very wavy and I would blow dry it straight every day and I noticed that it got very dry, itchy, and frizzie. So I did some research online awhile ago and to sum it all up, this is what I know:

Try cutting back on straightening your hair only 3 or 4 times a week. On a Saturday or Sunday, spend an hour or two trying different hair styles that look nice with your curly hair.

If you feel you absolutly neeeeeeed to straighten your hair, try a damage control or hydrating shampoo like Sunsilk or the new Herbal Esscence stuff. You could also try blow drying your hair straight while using the cold button. Takes longer, but it won't kill your hair.Hair straightener?

It is bad for your hair if you do it that much. You are just burning your hair. If you do it like every other day than it's not as bad but your hair will get wavy over the days. If you do straighten your hair everyday ust do it in the mornings it not like it needs to be straight to go to sleep. There are also creams you can put in your hair that moisten it and if you put them in before you straighten your hair it's not as bad for your hair. You can get these types of creams at any drug store.
minimize the use to maybe once a day or less. And try experimenting with hairstyles that don't require you to straighten your hair as much.
there are many ways to fight the damaging affects of a hair straightener. Use an especially mosturizing shampoo made for repairing damaged hair. Use a leave in conditioner and a spray that protects against heat. You can find these in any salon or hair supply store.
Try using some heat protection for your hair. I heard Loreal is pretty good.
I dont think it is a very good idea to use it every day. Use it about once in two weeks only but wash your hair every day with plenty of conditioner. Remember to use cold water to make your hair shine.
its going to damage your hair no matter what, esp if you use it every day. There is no getting around that.

I used to use a straightener religiously and i used to do a hot oil treatment once a week on it and also, before i used the straightener i would put v05 conditioning cream on my hair to act as a barrier.

I have naturally curly hair and ive just decided to go with the curl. I leave my hair curly, put on a wide headband and then straighten out my bangs only and side sweep them.
I would limit it to just using it in the morning.

But no, it's not going to harm your hair. The worst it could do is dry out your hair a little. I've been using one since I was 13, I'm 16 now and my hair is still soft and silky.

What you might find helps is a really good, deep conditioner once a week and using a heat protectant cream or spray before you blow dry and straighten your hair. It will make your hair silky and shiny!
Doing anything like that and putting any kind of heat onto your hair will damage it. That include hair drying, sun, straightner, curling iron, ect. If you're going to curl or straighten it I suggest you get a thermal spray/polisher that will protect the hair from heat, splits, frizz, fly aways, ect. I have the CHI Thermal Polishing Spray but anything that will protect from thermal use should work. And definately make sure you're hair is completely dry when using a thermal iron.
yes, it's extremely bad for your hair. it is likely to break. so, instead of going against your hair, go with it. look at this sight, it tells you how to care for curly hair. good luck!
I suggest that you don't use it everyday. Try giving your hair a break like on days when you're just staying at home, or you can put your hair up and use cute hair accessories. If you do use your hair straightener, make sure to use a hot iron care product (try Loreal) to minimize the heat damage of hair irons. Good luck!
I have heared this story once or twice I bet you think your hair is terrible and you dont like it and it has to be straight? while in reality i bet it is beautiful and if you asked people you know i bet they would tell you the same thing and you may even get compliments on your hair sometimes. as for the hair straightener maybe you could find someting else another product to use such as hair mouss or conditioner to give your hair a break from the straightener
use heat protecting spray, so u put it before u sttraighten to make/ keep ur hair healthy
