Good hair straightener?

i want a new hair straightener??

i have a silver ion!

my hair is very thin little past my sholders

and blonde

what is the best straightener for me and where can i get one??Good hair straightener?
Ghd's are the best and do the least damage to your hair.Good hair straightener?
do not get a chi!!! i had mine for 4 months (the chi turbo) it actually blew up in my room i had it on for about 1 min, i turned around because i heard a bubbling noise n smelled plastic, my chi was smoking! so then i got a regular chi, had it for about 2 months n it just wouldnt go on anymore (i dont straighten my hair everyday either) i recently bought a coriolous (spelling?) it snags my hair n i have so much breakage from it... i had a sedu flat iron which was my favorite! never damaged my hair, never snagged, not one problem but i got rid of it when i got my crappy chi (biggest mistake ever) i might just go buy another sedu
DO NOT GET A CHI!

I got one, and it broke, and then I got a new one, it broke too. You can read reviews online and this happens to a lot of people.

Go into an expensive beauty salon and buy a straightener that gets up to at least 400.
chi!

its the best you can get it at any hair styling store and even target

i hope that helps!

Braun Satin is the best cermic Straightener from braun here it is picture

A CHI!

I have had mine for forever and i love it!

Which Hair Straightener Should I Get? ?

My friend broke my hair straightener, so I decided to get CHI.... Because there are so many different styles of the CHI, does anyone know which one works the best?Which Hair Straightener Should I Get? ?
dont spend alot of money on CHI I got one from Conair for 40 dollars. It is wet to dry and red. Itheats up super fast and staghtens goodWhich Hair Straightener Should I Get? ?
I have this straightener, and it works amazing.

And it lasts along time.

It may be a little expensive, but you really get your moneys worth.
Personally, I would get the Solia. In Seventeen Magazine it rated the Sedu-1st

Solia-2nd

CHI-3rd

Not only that, but the Solia is way cheaper, and the cord doesn't short out as much. I had a really cheap Andis Straightner so I bought a simple CHI...it shorted out in 3 months. I thought since it worked well I would buy another one, so I did....and once again in 5 months the cord shorted out again! I decided to check out my other options and bought the Solia. It has lasted me 1 1/2 years and straightens better than my CHI. Good Luck to you!

Good Hair Straightener or No?

I just got a ceramic hair straightener. It is called Wet 2 Dry by Remington, it has 30 different heat settings for all kinds of hair, a digital display, and as the name says I can straighten my hair when it is wet. Also it is 2 inches wide, and I have very thick hair. I was just wondering if this was a good hair straightener for me or not. Thanks.

Here is a link to a picture of it: http://cn1.kaboodle.com/hi/img/2/0/0/89/8/AAAAAh8-JE0AAAAAAImC7Q.jpgGood Hair Straightener or No?
nope.. splurge for a chi striaghtenerGood Hair Straightener or No?
no my friend used that and she didnt like it much..but it might work for u

the new iron kiyoseki works great!

http://kstyler.com/

http://kstyler.com/about_carmen.html

if u want to know what iron to get then

CHI n GHD's are best! get one of them! and no they aren't 100 to 200 dollars if u order online...i got my chi turbo for 87 dollars at amazon.com

and at ioffer.com the chi's cost from 29.99 to 50 dollars..they are authentic not replica's.(some are replicas so ask the seller first but most arent)

and can u believe ghd's at that site only cost 16.00 dollars? once shipping is added its like 60 something... that is still cheap for such a great salon product!! .at salons its 200 to 400 dollars!!

http://www.ioffer.com/i/GHD-MK4-PINK-HAI/a>

it comes with a pouch, iron, clips, and instruction dvd,,if u want the chi then get the turbo chi because it has temperature control unlike other chi models so ur hair wont burn since u choose the temp u want n turbo works much faster!!

http://cdn.overstock.com/images/products/a>

message me for any help!! chi's are cheap at the site! buy one! u will be happy!
I had that one, it was good enough, but i dont reccomend it at all.

I have one by Bed Head, or whatever and it works great.
i use that. and its really good. best one ive had so far. but now im going to get the sedu. but its still good.
Yeah its really good I have to same straightner as you but its a different kind because you can't straighten it when its straight. Even if you could with your straightner, I think you shouldn't because thats what really burns your hair. The best straightner is the CHI because it doesn't burn at all. Even if you don't straightn your hair when it is wet it may still burn. Just don't straightn it a lot and NEVER straighten your hair when it is wet because then you will really have issues to deal with!

Hope I helped=D
My friend actually suggested that straightner to me.

I've been using it for about 2 months and I think it works GREAT.

I only straighten it when its dry/damp though.

My hair is pretty fragile and thin, so I just stay at 8.

If its thick hair, like the feeling of horse hair..maybe try 12?

My mother has thick hair that feels like a horse's mane and I tried straightened her hair.
That sounds like it is good, but if you have really thick hair then no. Get a Chi they are amazing!
wow never heard of straighting your hair when wet..really doesnt sound safe..or natural..but a belson works pretty good..thats what i use and im mexican so i have really thick hair..

but if you have thin hair..ibet a chi would work good..
Drugstore brands arent good for your hair. If you dont mind damaging your hair its okay. But invest in a ceramic tourmaline straightener like CHI,Solia,GHD. They are expensive but definetly worth it.

  • Best hair straightener. HELP?

whats the best hair straightener thats not too expensive?Best hair straightener. HELP?
i have a chloche iron. it is 100% ceramic which is good for your hair. it leaves it silky and shinny when i run my fingers through my hair after using it it feels like im running my fingers through running water it takes about 6 seconds to fully heat up. you can get them in any color... they are a little expesive but they last you a very long time so they come with a one year warrenty. they work good and last long and are probably the best.. you can also use chi irons. they are the same. any 100% ceramic is the same as long as it is 100% not ceramic plated or ceramic titanium those will burn your hair. you can order chloche or chi irons online. just go to http://www.chloche.com or google chloche or chi irons... youll get somethingBest hair straightener. HELP?
ghd. but they are expensive but worth it
    the best is conair but

those can come in at $75-95

lol but go in to ur local warehouse stores they should have something cheap and which striaghten ur hair very well

i noe that because of the striaghten i have
cheap ones- remington wet2style is a great one especially if your on a rush since you can use it on wet hair

expensive ones but great and last a long time- chi -of course and my fav http://www.linea-pro.com/product-info.ph/a> it's great and tottally worth the bucks!
What ever u do dont EVER get a chi. Did u no that chi get so hot sometimes that they start to melt even catch on fire! I would say a solia ive heard its very good see http://www.folica.com/Solia_Tourmalin_r1/a>
i bought my hair straightener from walmart for $15. its Andis multi-heat ceramic 1'; wide. has heat control from 1-20. works wonders on my curly hair!
I have really curly hair and the only straightener that ever really worked on me is the T3! It is amazing...It's kind of expensive but SO worth the money. If you use it with the T3 blow-dryer it's even better. NO frizz!
    HI:)

Without purchasing a CHI iron, I recommend purchasing a bottle of CHI Silk fusion, start with a small bottle at first. It lasts a long time. Use this with a blow dryer for perfect silky, straight hair~

    *Ciao Bella*
I use Babyliss and I swear by it.
i ordered the andis online, it does a great job and its remarkably cheap.

    http://community.livejournal.com/madradh/a>

that should help, its a guide we made up for flat irons.
ghd no other one even comes close
The best is the Sedu Ionic Ceramic Tourmaline 1.5'; Straightener. It costs $125.95, but it's worth it if you have thick, curly, frizzy or hard to straighten hair. I suggest you save your money and get it. You can buy them here: http://www.folica.com/Sedu_Ionic_Cera_r1/a>
well if ur hair is thick you want a good sized one. i like my conair ceramic technology one. it works well on my hair which is thick and kinda coarse. I find that the bigger straighteners work better for more hair types!!! good luck!

    p.s. it's only like 25 bucks
If ur curious about product as well, I would recommend 'Got 2 Be' There is a straightening product that works fantastic and even if u try to curl ur hair w/ this product in it wont hold at all. (I once put the product in my hair in the morning and tried to curl it in the evening and couldnt figure out what the problem was--realized this product was super awesome ha ha)

I researched straightening irons last time I was going to buy one and had decided to get a Sedu.I don't live near a mall and there is a Sally close to my house and because I was sort of in a hurry to purchase one I thought I'll try one of theirs and if I don't like it I'll take it back. I bought a Jilbere Tourmaline Series flat iron at Sally. I think it cost around $.65.00 I got the wide one. You may be able to get the narrow one for around 40.00.It is GREAT. It also has a range of heat settings.Everyone that uses it says ';your hair iron is awesome!'; It was probably less than half of what I would have paid for a Sedu or Chi. On a scale of 1 to 10 I'd give it a 10. I really don't think it could do a better job. Do like I did, give it a try, and if you don't like it take it back. Trust me though, you won't take it back.Seriously I LOVE this straightener! Whatever brand you choose, MAKE SURE it's a tourmaline straightener. They are far less damaging to your hair.I use heat protectors to keep from frying my hair. This is the best and least damaging straightener I have owned. God bless!!Best hair straightener?

I'm usualy on the higher end. I'm not sure about the cost about 30 i would say. they sell them in walmart. But i absolutly love it cause you can straighten right out of the shower

    Best hair straightener?

My hair is thick and wavy. It's not really curly and can sometimes be frizzy. It is about shoulder length, maybe a little longer. Usually it is a little shorter. I straighten it everyday, and my straightener is either dying or not working anymore. Either way, I need to replace it. Any suggestions for a good one? Please name brand, type, where to get it, and price. Thanks a bunch!Best hair straightener?
There's alot. Usually, if you look around, the ones that are the most expensive, (particularily 200 dollars) are the best ones, the ones that work the fastest and cause less damage. However, this technique, (of finding the most expensive) isnt foolproof, because alot of brands can rip you off. (Its better then finding a cheap one though, because alot of brands that are REALLY cheap SUCK, take a long time to use, and dont heat up as fast. AND they damage hair brutally.)

The best brands that I have heard of are:

The chi flat irons. You can search it up on google, i've heard its great. They heat up really fast, they cause hardly any damage and they finish hair in about 10 minutes. They cost around 150 $ , but considering they work fantastic, it is a good price.

Conair is also a good one. It's affordable, around 40-50 dollars, and they work great.

I have the CORTEX, (the pink one) it works great! It heats up REALLYfast and it takes off oil in your hair. It leaves the good stuff in hair so that your hair is smooth and gentle, causing no damage at all. It straightens up my hair in less then 10 minutes :) It costs around 200 dollars though, but I think it was worth it.

Look around, there are alot of salons who have great flat irons and straighteners. If you're going to buy one, I reccomend buying them from professional salons, where they cut and style hair, because they have the best ones that will actually work, (since they use them themselves.) Also, you can get a good price and a fabulous iron. Try to avoid buying them from retail stores, or Walmart or etc unless you KNOW its a good iron, because they just sell cheap ones that just make profit, not results.

Good luck in finding a good iron! :)Best hair straightener?
Wow! My hair sounds exactly like yours (except a little longer)!

Well, today I just got my Solia Tourmaline 1 1/4 Flat Iron. I ordered it from Folica.com for $88 (and it has free shipping).

I didn't know it was comming so I just let my hair dry naturally.

When it got here i just had to try it so i did.

I used Tresseme Heat Protectant and Bed Head Control Freak Serum and it straightened it in 30 min.( and that was with a new flat iron and curly frizzy hair)

    I definately suggest it!

    Heres how to see it:

  • Help!!!!! Hair Straightener?

I recently went to the salon and got my extremely thick hair thin and layered. The guy straightened it and it looked great, so I bought and iron (Enzo Milano for $70), but i simply can't achieve the exact same results. He used oil, a different straightener, and a different shampoo. Does that have anything to do with it? What should I do?Help!!!!! Hair Straightener?
return your straightener then go back to the salon n ask the guy what straightener you should buy n what oil he used n tell him to give you tipsHelp!!!!! Hair Straightener?
the best thing to do is get a blow dryer with a comb attachment . use silk therapy after shampooing blow dry then section hair and use small section to straighten at a time. good luck . and if you don't get it ask your stylist to show you . I teach clients I have them do there hair. then I can tell them what thery are doing wrong .You can have your hair look the same as it did in the salon
    FX Straighten Out.
i use the artizen iron (like $180)it works really great on my thick hair! sometimes it does it quickly and sometimes it takes a long time! when i blow dry and quickly straighten it , it takes half an hour (sometimes more or less), otherwise it takes 2 hours! then again my hair is VERY thick and wavy/curly

when i got it done at the salon it didnt even last a whole day!

    www.artizenusa.com

you should return the iron and go back to him and ask what he used, i would do that if i were you!
    go back to the salon..
Yes. Actually it has a lot to do with it. I got my hair done last week. And when I was at the salon, my hair stylist used the best straightener on the market, and products that cost about $50 bucks each. So even if you got a ';top of the line flat iron';, just like me, and have grocery store products, your not going to accheive even near the same results. Oh yeah, i have EXTREMELY thick hair too, and i used to always get my hair thinned out, but it never really did anything. So i talked to my stylist and she said that when you get your hair thinned out, it causes more frizz, so spending that extra money to get your hair ';fixed'; didnt do jack Sh*t.
well ask next time how to get the same great look. looks arent important if you dont have one you like.
i don't know about oils and shampoos but you should return your straigtener and get a CHI [about $100]. a lot of hairstylists use them and they work really well with pretty much any hair type. it was probably how how he blow dried it too.

or you can just go back to the salon and ask him what he used.
umm id go back to ur salon and ask the guy what he did to make your hair look that way... and ask him what straightner you can buy and that sorta stuff
Use Straighten Out from FX Special Effects. It's the best! You can get it at any Walgreens. It's inexpensive and works great.
bumble and bumble products - tonic, thickener and that oily stuff for after. It is the best line out there!
well i would say that it does make a diffrence

    Best hair straightener to use...?

I've had my flat iron for about 2 years now, and its time to get a new one! My hair is naturally wavy and i usually straighten it when i go out. My hair is also pretty thick...soo any suggestions on what is the best flat iron to use?? I'm not looking to spend ALOT of money on a flat iron ($50 or less)

Which flat iron has worked best for you??

thanks =]Best hair straightener to use...?

they so straighten and have a wet/dry function built in.

i'm english, so don't know dollars.

so it might stretch your budget a little

    if not babyliss are alright.
OK the very best straightner for your hair is a CHI... they are professional straightners... though they are expensive they are SOOOOOOO worth it... i have had mine for 3 years!! You can get them in really pretty colors too!!!!
youu cant get a good cheap straightners you either have good expensive or cheap crappy ones

    id reccommend ghd's
i would say GHD's cos there the best thing since sliced bread but then again its waaaay out of your price range =/
    GHDs! They rule.

    Good hair straightener?

i want to get a good hair straightener that isn't too expensive but i also want it to be nice and work pretty fast. my hair is somewhat short (about an inch below my shoulders) and it is semi-straight naturallly. (it just has a couple waves in it here and there) please include a picture of it if you could and the whole name so i can look it up. THANKS%26lt;3Good hair straightener?
I have a CHI and I love it... it is a little pricy, starting around 100 dollars, but it's completely worth it, it works so fast. I've used cheaper brands such as Conair, but nothing compares. My exact iron is the CHI Turbo Flat Iron, 1';. Their website lists it at 160 dollars, and on sale for 120, but it is very easy to find it even cheaper on beauty supply websites. I have a link below under sources. If this is still too much, my friend has a Helen of Troy straightener which I have never used personally, but she swears by. I'm actually having trouble finding the exact one online, but it's all gold if that helps, and most of their products are around twenty or thirty dollars. Hope I helped!Good hair straightener?
all you need is a good ceramic flat iron..
    [IMG]http://i11.tinypic.com/4zbjofb.jpg[br>

i hope the picture worked....it is a paul mitchell ceramic flat iron
Try the herstyler. They sell them at the mall for about $100. I bought mine on ebay for $30 and saw it on amazon.com for $50.
    buy a skinny one.

go to a beauty store and ask them about it.

chances are you'll spend around $80.

    don't use conair or revlon.

going cheap on your hair is bad for it.
chis are really good, and as previously stated pricey, but you will finad they have warranties and they arent as hard on your hair as the cheaper ones. i got mine at a beauty store that was closing for cheap, so if youre willing to wait and keep your ears open for closing beauty stores then you can get it for like 30bucks!!! =]
The best straightener to get is a Chi straightener. They're expensive though. They work in all types of weathers and are absolutely the best for your hair. If you don't want to spend the dollars then I use a conair straightener. I have naturally curly hair and I can use it and get my hair pin straight in like 15 minutes. They're great!

Get the Wet to Straight, heres some stuff about it, and it dries your hair too.http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=h/a>
I have a conair one that works really well. It was about $30. But most people I know have more expensive ones that also work. Sorry I have no idea what exactly mine's called. I've heard that the Chi ones work really well though but they're expensive. Good luck!
    chi straightners work really good
Go to folica.com, they have tons of hair straighteners for different prices, and different types and quality.

Depending on what you are willing to spend, the quality will vary.
Chi Brand. Great quality(kinda $$). buy after care too!
Hi , don't be upset by this answer,but.................if ur not a Professional and are asking a question likeTHIS to the world in general WITHOUT anyone being able to SEE Ur hair is like playing ';RUSSIAN ROULETTE'; with ALL 6 chambers filled!

Go to a PROFESSIONAL FIRST , and if push comes to shove! PAY ONLY for the consultation! (thats rite! pay for the consultation) what ? $20-$25 for 15min.? the porosity of your hair has to be taken in to account! you may have ';Dreck'; for locks, or Gold spun strands of VENUS. DON'T be a dummy and ask a question like that to people who only GROW hair and don't make a living dealing with it. (for years!) I hope this answer helped and not put the kibosh to it? :)

    Which hair straightener?

i have a biosilk one now and my moms getting me a new one. I need one that makes my hair really shiny and straight. were going to either sephora or sally beauty supply. which brand should i get? i need a protecter too so if you know any good ones let me know (: (links would be helpful)Which hair straightener?
    get the chi.

    very worth the cost.

you'll love it, and when it breaks (which is rare) it's always under warranty.Which hair straightener?
just used conditioner it will work

    Quality hair straightener?

Which straightener would you recommend works best for the least amount of money?

    thnx :)Quality hair straightener?
Well I'm not sure what you consider cheap for flat irons but I will reccomend mine anyways. I use the CHI. And it is supposed to be one of the best straighterns ever. I love it so much! It works great. Now I bought mine at my hair stylist place where it was on sale for half price and got it for abotu $80. Because it was usually around $160. BUT at BeautyCHoice.com they are supposed to sell it for like $80 too. Check it out! Also here is a video where I found out about it by eyemaclover, (Ket) one of youtubes makeup gurus. She reviews it and also shows you how to use it! :) Good Luck.

    %26lt;3, emmaQuality hair straightener?
I bought my straightner at Sally's Beauty Supply %26amp; I LOVE it! It is the knockoff brand of the CHI %26amp; it is called GVP! Check it out you can find reviews of it online %26amp; on youtube. They come in different patterns %26amp; colors so I hope that I helped! By the way mine was around 50 bucks! If you want a GOOD quality straightner I would expect to spend at LEAST 50 bucks. I have crazy naturally curly hair %26amp; have probably tried about ten brands over the years!
the chi is really good, but it is kind of more money than most flat irons, but u can find one on ebay fo 48$, there are also 12$ straighteners at walmart.

    Hope i helped! : )

My hair straightener burned my hair!?

what can i do? my straightener broke and it burned my bangs and they are completely fried, frizzy, and dry. i can only get them trimmed i cant cut them off so what can i do to make them at least look better???My hair straightener burned my hair!?
    Yes trim them

Then get a deep moisturizing hair masque. It repairs your hair in like 15 min.My hair straightener burned my hair!?
You could either poof them up with a clip,

    http://www.collegefashion.net/wp-content/a>

or braid/twist them and then clip them to the side http://www.runningwithheels.com/wp-conte/a>

or you could just wear a headband. http://www.gizmodiva.com/entry_images/09/a>

but I STRONGLY RECOMMEND NOT straightening those bangs for a while. Hope this helps!
load up on anti damage shampoo and conditioner and use it! for the burnt parts...there;s nothing you can do and you;d be better just cutting them off :(

before you get in the shower though, rub some of that conditioner in and leave it for a couple minutes then wash it out with the shampoo and follow with the conditioner again.

after you;ve recovered though, don;t forget to replace you;re flat iron with something more durable that woun;t break. i;d recommend doing some research before because usually when people ( specially girls ) get a crappy tool that messes with their do....their gonna tell the world!

    sorry about ur hair ;(
..wow. lol. Pretty much trim them and then..for a while it seems like you'll maybe want to try to pin back your bangs in a cute way. Until they grow back.
do a hot oil or deep conditioning treatment you seriously need it if you wanna keep that hair

  • Best hair straightener?

what is the best hair straightener ever? o.o...Best hair straightener?
    chi :)

    GHD is also really good

maybe thats what you're talking about

    theyre $195Best hair straightener?
    FHI.

and it doesn't just claim to be better than CHI, it is. I should know, I have a head full of blonde curls and a FHI hairstraightner. After half an hour, I have pin straight hair.
I bought the Paul Mitchell Smoothing Iron and I love it! It's kind of pricey, about $180, but it's worth it.
    GHD works for me!!
i have a chi and it works well....the $200 straightner you are talking about might be a ghd...and i have heard that those are really good! the ghd straightner uses a grid technique instead of having heat all over like a chi which helps keep hair from burning and it keeps it shiny!
G.H.D always in england there æ‹¢100 or less thats cheap but i did get mine tho for æ‹¢119
chi its pretty expensive but it works so well
chi is probably the best quality and works the best
IDK LEMME GUESS A CHI?? OR THE ONES THE CELEBRITAY STARS USE.
    chi [:
    im not really sure..

    but there is this straightner

my friends have u can straighten

your hair when it's wet and dry...

i think it is like $30 at wal-mart

i think thats where they got it..

    Pre-hair straightener products?

Any ideas for sprays or creams or whatever that you put in your hair prior to use a straightening iron, to make the whole process smoother or easier or whatever.Pre-hair straightener products?
I use sleek.look smoothing system by Matrix. It helps protect my hair against the heat, makes the straightening easier, and holds the straightening for longer. Plus it has a nice but discreet smell! Some that I've used in the past smell nasty... It can also be used with a curling iron, waffle iron, etc.Pre-hair straightener products?
Aquage straightening ultra gel works well. http://www.aquage.com/su.html

I wouldn't recommend V05 Straightening Gel. It doesn't work at all.

Chi has some products that I've heard work well, although I haven't tried any yet.

There are a ton of products out there, try going to a beauty supply store and asking what works best for your hair type.
if youre looking for inexpensive the purple bottle of the sunsilk hairapy works really good before straightening. also try going to a beauty store to get a thermal protectant in addition to it to prevent breakage
I just got a perm a month ago, and sometimes i like to straighten my hair, so if you want good heat protection and to make it straighter use Loreal Paris studio line hot straight- heat protection (pink bottle)
The absolute best is a product called Straighten Out from FX Special effects. You can get it at any Walgreens, CVS, Wal-Mart, etc. You'll love it!

Which hair straightener works best on wavy/curly hair?

costs less than 35$Which hair straightener works best on wavy/curly hair?
You are not going to get a good quality straightener for anything under probably $55. CHIs are the best, as well as any iron made of ceramic or tourmaline. Make sure you use heat protectant on your hair and use a shampoo and conditioner for heat treated hair.Which hair straightener works best on wavy/curly hair?
    Dark and Lovely
Turn the other cheek my friend. Leave It God, God is the great Equalizer, he will take all that's wrong with the world off your shoulders, if you just release your burden to him. God is free.
for less than $35, I really don't know. Just stay away from the wet to set ones, all they're going to do is fry your hair out. Try one with ceramic plates those tend to work the best. If you really want a good iron your going to have to spend some money, the CHI is the absolute best flat iron but it's going to run you about $100

if you need any more help just ask or visit my forum:

    http://mysticbeauty0.proboards74.com/ind/a>
I would go with the Conair professional ceramic. If you didn't have the budget right there, I would say Farouk CHI, which works like a dream, but the Conair (for me) is the next after that. My natural hair is the curliest hair you ever did see, but these two do the job, and ppl think its natural. Whatever you do, ALWAYS make sure it's PURE ceramic rather than just iron, because sometimes they just make them ceramic COATED, which still causes damage.
    Wigo Ceramic
    hair stylish
    CHI
I have a DURABRAND staightener and i work on my hair and my hair is really wavy
Get a flat iron. It will do wonders!!!
You can pretty much use any ceramic flat iron. I have the Paul Mitchell ceramic iron, as well as an ISO ceramic iron. Paul Mitchell's iron will run you for atleast $ 100 but the ISO one cost me $44. Try Conair, I'm not sure how much heat is needed for your hair but usually the more professional tools will provide a higher voltage.

Now remember HAIR Product is very, very important. If your hair is medium to super thick, use a styling agent like: STR8 by RUSK, Shine On by BioSilk or Laminates by Sebastian.

Part your hair into small sections and mist (DO Not Drench or you will fry your hair) each section with one of the products above or something similar.

Then you will be silky smooth, like me....see my picture? LOL
get a CHI straightner and it will work great.
    conair
    Remington
    conair is the best
    jilbere de paris

i have tried some of the cheaper ones at discount stores and they made my hair frizzy. this one, i bought at Sally's
well i have very wavy hair and tried a million different straightners that never worked!!! then i got a Chi but it costs alot more than $35 dollars! but u can look on ebay and it might be a little less exspensive! but the price is worth it because it works great! good luck!
u can buy it at wal mart on the part that u straighten with is gold and the rest is black
vidal sasoon, at walmart, $20. all their products are great and very reasonable!
girl goo to the natianal whol sale liquidators and get a conair straightening iron it coast about 20-28 maybe
u can get a flatiron i use it on my hair and it works great. plus they r only like 20 dollars
You can buy a hairproduct by Paul mitchell called super skinny and then straighten your hair with any ceramic straightener.
optimum relaxer would be my choice... :D
James Brown and Rev. Al Sharpton, as well as MANCHILD IN THE PROMISED LAND author, Claude Brown, used Conkaline!!!

Is it still around??? I hear it burns like mad!!!!!
i love my Remington Wet 2 Straight! it rocks and works fast too. I purchesed mine at Claires.
any hair straightener will straighten your hair, but depending on how good it is, will determine how long it will stay there...you can spend heaps on really good ones called GHD..but a very good cheap one is Remingtion Ceramic Pro..i have one of these and they rock!

Look at what type of plates they have before buying, ones that are ceramic, or have some laser technology are very good ones and the hair stays straight longer!!
    Optimum Relaxer (mild or regular)
i have a remington wet to straight. i love it. you dont need to blow dry. ive tried conair and it sucks. just use protecting spray so you dont damage your hair.

    Sharing hair straightener...?

I have a play tomorrow night and I was thinking of bringing my hair straightener. Would this be okay? Or would the other girls' hair textures and sprays damage it? Just wondering. Thanks in advance! (By the way, it is a pretty big cast.)Sharing hair straightener...?
The other girls hair textures really wouldn't hurt it. The flat iron is made to straighten many different hair textures. The sprays really wouldn't damage it unless they spray it exactly on the flat iron.

If any spray does get on it, when you get home just use a damp cloth to clean it.

Good luck with the play and have fun!!Sharing hair straightener...?
think its not a big prob. guess u and your friends r old n mature enough to take care of others' belonging.

yes u may use damp cloth to clean e mental plates. Its good for u to clean it once in a while too.
Alternative to straightening... If you have wild hair or curly hair. You might want to give mixed chicks a try (http://www.mixedchicks.net)

Their stuff works for me... makes my curls nice without chemicals or heat. I apply to wet hair and air dry.

    Shipping is quick.

    Good luck.
It should be o.k.Just after the play and you bring it home make sure you wipe it down.
It is really up to you... but you should consider the risks, someone might drop it, break it or even steal it! who knows!! You should take it with you to fix your hair and maybe borrow it to your close friends... plus I'm pretty sure other girls might bring their straightener and hair supplies....wish you the best of luck on your play!!!!!!!

    Japanese hair straightener + color?

will it be okay for me to color my hair after a week of getting my hair straightened (specifically the japanese hair straightener) ? others say it may badly damage your hair and ruin a straight hair, while others say that it wont ruin a straight hair at all. please help. thanks!Japanese hair straightener + color?
you already have chemicals in your hair.. it is hard to stragihted color treated hair.. but i am not sure if it is otherway around.. I am sure you can dye your hair 'coz i have seen people dye their grey hair even after getting japanese permanant straightening done :)... but when you talk about damage... chemicals are never minerals/food to hair.. if you need style you have to mess up with chemicals :)

Any retail store, like Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Target, etc. or at a local beauty supply store.

lots of places but the best way to buy them on the internet is folica.com
when i became a hairdresser my mom got me a Chi on overstock. com for a good price

Which hair straightener should I use??

Ok..so my hair is really thin, but also very coarse and frizzy. It waves only in one spot, so that's why i straighten it. so which straightener would you recommend?Which hair straightener should I use??
I would recommend the Chi, yes its expensive, but its worth all the money.

I have very curly frizzy hair, and I've tried many straighteners, but Chi has to be the best.Which hair straightener should I use??
okay so i would say the chi i have it

my hair is pretty straight fot the most

part but just to make it straighter i use

it it workes really good it doesnt make

your hair frizzy and it keeps your hair

straight untill the next day. its the best

so far all the celebrties use it. so then

its kinda pricy i got mine for 120 and

it was on sale but it has a lifetime woranty

also if you get one make sure its thin cuse

with all straighteners thick burnes out your

    hair really bad.

    so yeah hope i helped!

i have a pink conair one it works great and you can have wet hair when you use it 2 so if ur runnin late in the mornin you dont have to dry your hair after your shower i luv it and instead of havin to the high low thing you set it to exactly how hot you want it 1 through 20

sedu straighteners are the absolute best. mine is amazing and the list of celebrity users is impressive too. jennifer aniston, jennifer lopez, and hilary duff are all owners of a sedu.Good hair straightener?
well any ceramic iron is a good one,...and after that it comes to what you want it to do

if u want a curler included get a thin one

if u want a glossy outcome, get a steamer

if u want not too much damage to ur hair, get a CHI,solia, ghd,or sedu

    :)
GHD's are the best, they are around æ‹¢100 but in my opinion are the best. I have tried several hair straightners in the past but these are the best.

They hear up in a few seconds and go up to 200 degrees and more.

You can also create other hair styles with them such as waves, curls and flicks.

If you cant afford them I have heard CHCs are quite good.
You should get the Conair Infiniti 2 inch hair straighter and they don't cost a lot.
I use HerStyler Colorful Seasons. It's ceramic so it doesn't scorch your hair like others. It can straighten as well as curl. I bought it from those booths at the mall and so far I've used it for a month and works great. I got mine for 80 dollars, but it works as good as the Chi.
I have heard a lot of good things about the FHI Runway series straightener.....it leaves hair glossy no matter what kind of hair, no frizz, straightens fast, and doesn't poof when in humidity...although it is very expensive ($450) I would look it up a little more before buying to make sure it is what you want.
    chi is the absolute best

it's really expensive but it works really good.
I have a one inch coriolliss straightener. I bought it new and in the box off ebay for like 40 dollars. it works great and u can also curl your hair with it too. tht is a great deal as well because they are usually over a hundred dollars. They work awesomely so i would tottaly get it!!!

As a stylist, I have used a lot of flat irons (hair straighteners), including Sedu, Hai, Infrashine, Chi, Paul Mitchell, Solia, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss Ghd, T3, Kenta etc.

    In terms of performance:

The best ones are: Sedu, Kenta, Solia, Infrashine, Ghd. These are top of the line professional brands

Above average: Chi, Hai, Paul Mitchell,

Average: T3, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss

Below Average: Conair, Vidal Sassoon, Revlon, Bed Head etc. These are cheap consumer brands that you will find in drugstore. If you care about your hair, do NOT buy them.

and..its too expensive for my taste we're talkin 120-140$

you wont see me spendin that much on a hair straightener lol but i have a real goot one...it straightens your hair wet or dry and its only 25-30$ its called remington wet2straight

it works real good for a 25$ straightener. i reccommend it if you want something cheap and easy to find. and its real convenient when you wanna hurry to do your hair after you washit. You dont have to wat for it to completely dry out.

I have the best straightener EVER! It is a bablyss pro. It works so well I love it.
i heard from a bunch of people that they're not all THAT different if you're just someone that wants straight hair sometimes. i don't think there's a point in spending a bunch of money on that unless you're like someone famous..then i can't really help.

    Best Hair Straightener ever?

I want to buy a really good hair straightener, so can anyone recommend me one?

I don't care about the price. I just want an amazing hair straightener.

I have like 3 but they're not that great. :(Best Hair Straightener ever?
GHD was the best, New rounder barrel so it's even easier to create perfect curls, waves or flicks, as well as the perfect straight.

Sleep mode is a built in sety feature that gives you peace of mind by turning off if the IV styler is left unattend for 30 minutesBest Hair Straightener ever?
I have absolutely the BEST flat iron. My mom got it for me as a gift, so unfortuneately I can't provide you with the price, but let me tell you, this thing is awesome. Not only does it heat up super fast, but it goes to an extremely high temperature. Best of all, it has mirror like hot plates so it won't fry your hair! It's called Pink Professional Digital Hair Iron by Croc. This thing won't let you down, haha, I have hair that goes to the middle of my back and I can completely straighten in 20 minutes, and that's if I take my time. Hope this helps!
If you're willing to spend a little more, then I'd go for a Chi. Chi hair straighteners are awesome, there's no other that even comes close. I got this trial one that's really good directly from the Chi company itself. All I needed to do was try it out for at least 60 days and then give feedback every few days.

It works really awesome, it just heats up super fast and takes me about 5 minutes to straighten my hair and I got really long wavy hair.

I'm not sure if there are any left, but you can always try http://www.freesamplesfromheaven.com/chi/a>

    I hope that helps :)
ghd ftw! you dont have to keep going over the same bit, and i have stubborn hair!lol. they dont have heat settings but they change themselves to whatever hair you have.clever huh? and they make your hair shiny because of the floating ceramic plates and negative ions. all good :) best deal is on www.ghd-style.com i think. you get a free hair product :)

It didn't seem to damage my hair much, but I was also careful to apply leave in conditioner immediately after using it, and to ALWAYS keep my hair well moisturized. Hope this helps.

I went through 4 cheap ones ($30-60) in 2 years and have had a Paul Mitchell ($120) that has worked very well and lasted far longer than the cheapies. I know it's a lot to spend but you'll prolly do just as well over time.
    Heat
Get a ceramic iron that say ';ionic'; on it. Get one goes up to 450 degrees. AND get one that heats up fast.

You can find one at your closest sally's store. I got one over there, for $60 (and it was on sale =/) and it's been 2 years and I still use it.
The brand isn't what really matters, get one with ceramic irons, they don't burn your hair and it gives it a shine also.

Ceramic irons are expensive though, go to sallys, they can show you one probably in your price range.

hi, i cant go over $70.00

so what hair straightener do you recommend?

or which hair straightener do you NOT recommend?

and do you think its a good idea to look into a wet to dry hair straightener or no?

    thanks!!!Best hair straightener?
I recommend you DON'T get a wet to dry straightener. Trust me, I have one and it just burns your hair and gives it a really bad odor. When you use it on wet hair, it makes a sizziling sound too!!Best hair straightener?
don't get a wet to dry straightener because they don't work that good and they damage your hair extremely. also buy one that is a well known name brand because the other ones brake and fry your hair. and lastly the hot plates should be ceramic to keep your hair healthy and not fry it. ceramic is gentle on hair lol
A GHD is the way to go if you want the best one out there.

When i went to go get a new one i got a Hi lift.

Sorry your not going to find anything really good and safe for your hair under $145.00 Save your money and wait until you can get a good iron. Chi,Infrashine are my two favorites. If you know someone that has a cosmetologist license maybe you could ask them to get it for you. You could probably get a Chi for $125.00. Please trust me you wont regret waiting. I have never used the wet dry straightener, mostly because I don`t understand the concept. Cold wet hair going to heat is not the correct way to style hair. It is always heat first and end on cold. For straighter hair, hot, cold, hot, cold hot, end on cold. should take most people 15 -25 minutes to blow dry sometimes more if you have thicker hair. GOOD LUCK!

    P.S. I DON`T RECOMMEND A IRON THAT COST $70
i have a conair nano silver you can get it online for cheap!! like $15 and i have crazy curly thick hair and it makes my hair as flat as the CHI does. it comes with great stuff. in 19 and i have been through A LOT of straighteners and this one is my fave!!!
I would stay with the standard dry-hair straightener.

Often times you can find CHIs on sale for $70-$80. Those are arguably the best on the market. Hope this helps :)

they have good straighteners mines jilbere titanium tools

look there though and you can decide byt he reviews.
idk, mine was chi, but my mom got it for me, it was 100.

    ive had both of them

    for 4 years each

    AWESOME I TELL YOU

    AWESOME

    Which hair Straightener is best?

i really need a good one because i have really thick and curly hair please help thanksWhich hair Straightener is best?
I heard Chi is really good.Which hair Straightener is best?
no not a ghd for your hair type. it wont be much diff from chi so why spend the extra $

If your hair is really thick, chi might be good because it could do a job at a fixed low temp, thus doing your hair a service bc other straighteners will have you have to crank the temp. up higher. This is why I recommend chi to thick haired people, bc. of that. Why use a straightener that will require like 400 or more degrees when a chi will use it at the 360 or 370 ( i dont remember) that is a BIG diff. a matter of a couple degrees does make a BIG diff to the damage you do to your hair.

but I have fine hair ha ha so chi was not for me.

if you like something with tourmaline, go with sedu i am thinking of people with hair type like you.

for me and the every day look I want, the fhi was for me...I am interested in sedu, ghd and probably solia now too
    GHD's!!

Best thing you will ever buy,

    they work thee best, honestly!

even after i dropped my 3 year old pair i even payed another hundred quid jst tp buy another pair.

they heat up fast and do the BEST job!

you WILL notice the difference if you have used other striaghtners before hand!

I have extremely thick and curly hair! I've tried CHI, Sedu, and ISO, and so far this one is the best. I borrowed it from my friend for a week and I fell in love with it! That's why I'm gonna buy it tomorrow:)! lol
    Any high heat ceramic straightener.

My mom has thick curly hair and my straightener worked on her. i have a ceramic pro which is expensive but there are cheaper alternatives
i use a rusk, they are great straighteners and wont damage your hair. they heat up very fast and you can control the temp.

    Corrioliss hair straightener/curler?

I just bought one, and now I don't like it. It's not working well. I bought it after the guy did my hair at the little stand, and I LOVED it. But now, i just can't seem to do it myself, and it's not even straightening well. I have the zebra print one. The guy had a totally good sale pitch, and i shouldn't have fallen for it.

Do you guys like it? Can I return it if I don't?Corrioliss hair straightener/curler?
i like mine.... maybe its just the way you straighten your hair or the products you use. sorry =(

L'oreal Color Pulse Hair Dye + Hair Straightener?

I have brown hair and i'm gonna dye the underlayer of my hair (which is actually a dark-ish brown i guess) the shade ';energized auburn';. firstly, it wont stain my hair will it (thats my biggest concern)? and secondly, once i dye my hair, can i use my hair straightener (i heard you're not supposed to?)? will it have any effect to how long the colour stays in my hair? thaanks!L'oreal Color Pulse Hair Dye + Hair Straightener?
I used that a while ago and it took a lot longer to wash out then it was supposed too.

But, I didn't follow the directions excactly, and I straightened and blow-dried my hair a few times.

So I don't know excactly, but if you do it, follow the directions!L'oreal Color Pulse Hair Dye + Hair Straightener?

Has anyone heard of a Cleopatra hair straightener???

Supposedly it's been out for a month, and i've never heard of it, nor can I find it ANYWHERE online. I bought one on ebay (accidently) and I can't find any research on it...Anyone else heard of it?Has anyone heard of a Cleopatra hair straightener???
Yeah, I saw one in a museum in LA last month.

The ancient egyptians would heat rocks to a point where it would burn a hold through their hands then two very brave servants would hold the rocks to her hair and would slowly straighten her hair.

But seriously. You got jipped. I had one, but I returned it cuz it sucked.Has anyone heard of a Cleopatra hair straightener???

Preferably something under $60Whats a good hair straightener that's not too expensive? ?
Trust me on this, click on the link below:

    http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.d/a>

This is found in almost all warmarts. It works really well. It is ceramic, and heats up in 30 seconds.

I got this from the site:

Andis' 1 inch flat iron is perfect for all hair and styles. Ceramic plates, with its smooth finish and even heat technology, preserve natural oils and seal the hair cuticle for improved moisture retention. The result is increased luster and shine to the hair. The clamp style of this iron holds hair tight for quick results. You can straighten, flip, control, and smooth hair with a single product. The high temperature of 375 degrees allows you to really lock in the style and create professional results at home. This flat iron's auto-off feature, dual plates, a tangle-free cord and fast heat up are features that all women need in their styling appliances. For over 80 years, Andis has provided the barber and beauty industry with the finest quality of hair styling equipment to assure the highest level of professional results and now we are making this technology available for home use with the Andis at Home line of products. Designed and engineered in the United States, Andis also offers a complete line of quality clippers and trimmers for animal grooming as well as a full line of wall mounted hair dryers for the hotel industry.

ALSO this straightener comes with a 5 year warranty!!!!

So if you accidentally break it or something, they'll give you another one for free!!! (within 5 years of course)

**I use this straightener it's awesome!!!!!!!Whats a good hair straightener that's not too expensive? ?
Hi, I USED TO HAVE GHD'S BUT SOLD THEM TO STOP ME STRAIGHTENING MY HAIR AS IT WAS DAMAGING IT. THEN NEW YEARS EVE I WANTED DESPERATELY TO STRAIGHTEN IT SO WENT TO BOOTS AND BOUGHT SOME REMINGTON ONES FOR 24.99. THEY LOOK JUST LIKE GHD'S AND BELIEVE ME THEY WORK THE SAME. ALL MY WORK MATES WENT OUT AND BOUGHT THEM, THEY ARE BRILLIANT.

if u want a good one that will heat up fast get a chi... its more than $60 but it will be worth it in the end. Plus if you get a crappy one it wont last long Chi will last longer
GVP from sally beauty supply...its right at the limit of 60 dollars.
    CHI.They're about 100 bucks,but they're worth it.

    Whats the best hair straightener...?

Not the one that burns your hair so much and makes it straught

im asking like about a hair straightener that straightens your hair really nice and make it really straight and maybe shiny and wont damage your hairWhats the best hair straightener...?
Ok i will try to answer this being as honest as I can

Well i use babyliss at the moment and if im being honest there not that good, they give you soft hair but if you want to have hair straight all day then they don't do that (after a while my hair goes back frizzy with them.

So far as I know the two best straighteners are Remington straight in a stroke at about æ‹¢50 ($100) and Chi's at about æ‹¢60 ($120) these are good because even though they go upto 230 degreees they care for your hair and not only keep it straight all day but don't damage your hair like other starighteners you will find do.

A lot of people will say to you to buy GHD's but i warn you now, they are good starighteners and will give you soft shiny hair and straight but they do a lot of damage to your hair that you can't see, they have so much power that they weaken your hair and when you older your hair can be permanently damaged from them so I advise you not to use them because you save money and your hair by not buying them.

Also another trap to warn you about it cheap hair straigteners , anything under æ‹¢30 ($60) i wouldn ever buy because chances are these have been cheaply made and pu together and can damage your hair or the results will be very dissapointing

    hope i helped

    Whats the best hair straightener...?
I have GHDs and I think that the best thing about them is that you can use them to curl your hair or straighten it. But as far as just straightening goes, I find that my friend's Remmington and Schwarzkopf ones work just as well and they're about a third of the price.
The T3 it is ceramic tourmaline and it has crystalline in the tourmaline to add extra shine and this straighter gets up to 420 degrees but it also omits ions so it doesnt damage hair.
just do rebonding..it makes your hair straight and really, really shiny.the cost of it depends on the length of your hair..i did it to.my hair is til my shoulder and costed 80 bucks..and it can last 4r about 8 months..
chi but i hear that paul mitchel dries your hair out less. but a chi hardly dries it out so less wouldnt but too too much

    please answer my question

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;/a>
find a straightner that uses steam. my hair stylist used one and it made my hair super soft and i didnt have to do any touchups the next day
GHDs are good but theyre pricey!

They heat up to 230c or around that atleast 200 though.

I use ones by babyliss theres so good they was about 60 pounds and there the best straightners ive ever used to be honest.
the Karmin titanium hair straightener is a new model that prevents damage and makes hair extra shiny.
A lot of folks (consumers and hair dressers alike) swear by Farouk products. Amazon has them for ~$75, but it's worth it. Link to the product as source.
use heat protective spray before use!

i use treseme smooth heat protection (unsure spelling) and i would recommend it!

GHDs are by fast the best straightner! they change your life!

    Hair straightener?

what kinds are the straighteners that can also curl your hair.Hair straightener?
Andis Ceramic Flat Iron, the one without curved plates, is soooo amazing! I have very hard to curl hair and that flat iron does the trick! It's amazing, not to mention, super affordable, only like fourteen dollars!Hair straightener?
CHI baby CHI and gut the 1'; it's great and it is AMAZING!!! seriously i go to a boarding school and i do all my friends hair and most of them went out and got one themselves and they couldn't stop talking about it. It curls fast and beautiful and straightens even faster! one thing u need to know is that u need to buy the chi oil it will protect your hair from it so it will not burn..
the pink corioliss straightener! It curls and straightens your hair! But I think it straightens better, because the curls don't hold too well, but the curls are REALLY pretty if you do it right!

    thanks!
Get a Sedu. They have tourmaline plates instead of ceramic, which are said to damage your hair less! It also doesn't pull out your hair like other straighteners, glides really smoothly along the hair and heats up really fast (under a minute to full temperature)!

I always have loved my GHD but my friend has just recently bought the new VS Sassoon Goddess straightener , it has steam as well as ceramic heaters and I was in love with results after trying hers..I have dry thick curly hair and was straightened in one pass . I got one last week and I'm loving it ! after using my hair feels softer and more shiny than before. As I regularly straighten this is a really fab improvement! it you haven't seen it I have googled and found a website www.stylegoddess.com.au
Mine is a DaVinci. The lady at the store said it was better than a Chi. And I have to agree. My hair is extremely sensitive and thick, so I have to straighten it at the highest setting, which normally kills my hair, but not this one.
FHI!! expensive, but worth it. Use it a ton and doesn't damage my hair. Heats up in about a minute, and leaves it shiny! =-D

ok well I want a hair straightener for under 30 bucks.

    What kind should I buy?

my hair is about shoulder length and its already pretty straight so I don't want a really wide one.

Ginalli Milano for sure...you can straighen your hair or curl it with the straightener...even if its wet.

and it comes out soooo smooth and shiny, i have one. and the curling

irons from them are the best!! you just hold the iron and wrap strands around it and let go...its amazing, and the curls stay in tact until you wash them out...although they are pricey. but with hair irons, you get what you pay for most of the time.
well to tell you the truth, youre not going to find a quality straightener that will last for under thirty dollars. i found that out of all the straighteners i've had, CHI is the best, and ive been the most happy with. heres a good website to look at :)

A good hair straightener is ceramic. Try not to buy metal hair straighteners because it easily damages hair. I use conair as my brand. Also if you want to protect your hair use a spray that protects heat damage. I use tresemme heat tamer spray.
Chi is a really good straitner. Its a little bit pricey but worth it. Make sure to keep your recipt so that if it brakes you can get a new one! Skull mania is the best one!

CHI comes in really small sizes, perfect for traveling. i also have curly hair, %26amp; i straighten my hair quite often. i originally had a maxiglide straightener (http://www.maxiusbeauty.com/) which is great for really thick hair. its also very healthy because it has a steam button which hydrates your hair %26amp; doesnt frizzle it out. i really liked that one but i also travel a lot %26amp; it broke in one of my suitcases :( its very expensive so i didnt buy it again, instead i got a CHI. im very happy, it works extremely well %26amp; leaves my heart silky %26amp; shiny as well. its extremely fast (i usually can do all my hair in about 10-15min) %26amp; youll be very happy im sure. its light %26amp; compact %26amp; small for traveling. good luck!!! :)
Well my parents decided to get me a straightner for Christmas so they did ALOT of research and finally found out that the CHI (which I love sooo much cause it gets really hot but doesn't burn your hair) was the better choice. The chi also comes with a lifetime warranty!! :)
    I would definitely say CHI.

The GHD works well too, but for the price difference the CHI works just as well.
Dont waste your money on either, i haver had a T-3 for three years and its the best investment i have ever made :)
I just got a Chi pink dazzle one for xmas, and it's great. so i guess you should try it too : )
    GHD!!!!!!!!!!!

    SOOO MUCH BETTER!!!!
    I prefer CHI.

  • Hair straightener : hot or not?

Your able to straighten your hair everyday ,no matter what other have informed you it will not dehydrate your hair or damage it. Only if you don't put back the moisture in your hair which you should be doing anyways. It is easier to mange when it is straight as of opposed to when it is curly.Try using a ceramic one so that it wont damage your hair and is more efficient.the only way it can look all nasty is if you dint cut your hair tips every 6-8 weeks to cut off dead hair and or split ends%26gt;if these problems do occur Use anti-split products.Found in nearest retail shop... Walmart, shoppers, beauty shopsHair straightener : hot or not?
for me hot.Hair straightener : hot or not?
    HOT!!!
I prefer doing them only on special occasions. If you do it too often your hair will become burnt and dry and damaged and it will look disgusting.
    Hot!!
hot, but only a few times a week, otherwise your hair will become burnt, brittle, and you will get split ends ALOT faster with the overuse of the hair straightener. If you want your hair to be straight all the time, maybe you should look into getting a chemical straightening, or a temporary one that you can find in any drugstore or wal-mart/target.
whatever you want it to be.

    for me they are hot
    hot!!!
hot... especially if you have very thick hair... if you have thin hair, you can still straighten your hair, but ask your hair dresser for a spray that will make sure that your hair doesn't fall out or break.
Its definately HOT but too much of it can damage yr hair. If u really want to do it, u should go to the saloons. SHISHEDO brand is the best.
Definitely hot. It doesn't have to torch your hair. Use a good product with tourmaline/ceramic plates and a great styling aid that will protect your hair from the heat; there are tons of them around. Never hold the iron in any one spot; keep it slowly moving. I find hot irons LESS damaging than curling irons for that very reason; you don't have to hold the curl in place.

NOTHING is more damaging than straightening treatments. I don't care if you use a hot iron every day, 3 times a day, nothing does more damage than chemical relaxers.
curly hair is really in now . straight year just seems and looks boring. i say hot on somedays totally not on all days . im sure you look great with or with it any way
    very hot
    yea...

tat's the point of a hair straightener- heat..

    Hair straightener?

    well whats the best?

my mom had hers done and the hairdresser used a chi...

i heard that was really good??

my dad and my mom really liked her hair straightened but my mom wouldnt buy a straightener cuz it damages ur hair. is that true? like does it really burn ur hair?

cuz ik most people do it [straighten their hair] like everydayy, and nothing happens to it!

im indian, thick hair, straight hair.Hair straightener?
Chi is the best I know of. And yes, flat ironing your hair does damage it, but it will only get burnt if you leave the iron touching your hair in one place for more than five seconds. Apply a heat protector prior to straightening your hair and use a hair mask once or twice a week to countereact the heat damage. Also, go over your hair with the cool setting on your blowdryer after straightening to close to cuticle.Hair straightener?
Chi straightener are the best. But don't straighten your hair everyday if you or your mom decide to get one, because it causes split ends even if you use products in your hair prior to straightening it. If you compare a girl that straightens their hair everyday to a girl who doesn't ever straighten their hair, or rarely does you will see the difference it looks alot healthier when you dont. I know this because I used to straighten my hair everyday %26amp; don't know what I was thinking. Thick Indian hair is gorgeous anyway.
    Its depends

on your personal hair type. So you have thick hair that is straight. The question is is it naturally that way or do you have to use some type of iron to make it that way. If your hair is naturally that way then you shouldnt really have to straighten it that much, but if it isnt then you may have to straighten it two times out of the week.

If yor hair is not that hard to straighten and you want to sve a bit of money then you could just buy a Conair, which works really good depending on your hair type. If your hair was naturally curly , hen I wouldnt recommend it. Its mostly for people whose hair is not that hard to straighten.

If you want your hair SUPER straight then I would recommend a Chi, but if you use it too often it is true that there's a likely chance that your hair will begin to break off, and if you do it like everyday, your hair will look fried, so just be careful, and dont just think it will cause visible damage, but cause it can cause damage thats not visible at the time but after a while you will begin to notice the damage.

So make a wise choice. I wish you the best :)

I am mixed so i know EVERYTHING about straightening hair. If you want a chemical you have to be careful. Lye can really mess up your hair, you can loose hair, you can burn your scalp, you can burn your face! No matter what you do, your hair will be at least somewhat damaged. I tried the natural straightening kits for salons (I use Sally's so I do it myself but its salon quality and I do it well) the chi and my hair was just as curly as before, it didn't damage my hair, but it did not straighten it at all. I use an iron most days and it does the job but takes FOREVER and with most heating items, they destroy the hair, and my hair takes longer to grow. I also use relaxers every 6 weeks and depending on the brand they can destroy your hair. They do the job the best, but they go away faster if you swim or wash your hair too much, and they can really fry your hair and make you loose hair if you do not get it done properly. I do not go to salons for it because I have gone in with hair down to my butt and had to get it cut to my shoulders because the damage was so bad, and htey did not care about my screams that my scalp was burning, so I had scabs on my scalp :'( . The best thing to do is to find what works best, then find the treatments that go with them, like if you use an iron, there are serums to protect the hair, if you relax it there are special conditioners and products that will keep your hair up(in good condition) and finding the right relaxer can prevent any and all side effects (like breakage and burning) the silk elements is best for me, but clairol is best for my sister so you just have to do a trial and error, and getting a small amount of each at a time for a strand test is always good, always do strand tests.
i have the conair brand one for $20 it's a ceramic flat iron, and it really works.....but w/ it i use a hair protection spray, and a shine spray after i'm done, but i only do it on special occasions, and my hair is a big frizz ball....it's a 3/4 inch from Walgreens(store) but it really does work...in my opinion most to all conair products are really good.

it takes me about 45 minutes, if i do it alone...cause it's only a 3/4 in...but if my mom does it for me...maybe 20-30 min

only..and the flattening iron is very convenient too...

one of my friends had a Chi and hers broke very easily so i won't recomend that 1

other brands that r good too r(friend recomendations)

    babyblu

    revlon

    conair
the chi's are amazing. i fully endorse it -slaps a ';Sydney Endorses the Chi'; sticker on a Chi-. for about three years, i've only JUST gotten my second one. and it's shared by me and my mom AND used EVERY day. it's wonderful and it doesn't harm your hair like others because it's actually ceramic plated, and not just a ceramic coating. this means heat is distributed equally so all parts are done the same, and it seals the cutical, locking in whhat moisture was there and keeping outside moisture out, keeping the frizzies away. it even, when used right, can be a very good curler. this is an amazing product and i think you should TOTALLY get one!
Yeah, I'm sure people who straighten their hair everyday have real healthy hair, hhaa. Of course it damages your hair, silly! I mean, it's literally burning your hair, if you think about it. Just without the fire part. I have a Sedu flat iron because I've actually heard it's better than the Chi, and I agree. I've had the Chi, but it broke in about half a year I think. So then I got the Sedu (which is $130) and it has lasted me a whole year so far. A bit better than the Chi, and a lot easier to straighten your hair because it's very lightweight. Oh, and to not damage your hair as much, I would suggest using a heat protectant spray.
Well, after a while, straighteners can damage your hair. But there are shampoo and other hair products out there to help restore damaged hair because of heat. One new line of products is Tressemme` Thermal Creations鈩? It's made specially for hair that is frequently exposed to heat. They have everything from shampoo and conditioner to strong hold gel. Chi is probably the best product that you can easily get your hands on for a reasonable price. Now I'm sure there are even better straighteners but they are hard to find and VERY expensive. If you do get a straightener, don't get a cheap knockoff, there not worth it. Hope this helps! :D

    *10 points GREATLY appreciated!
I also have a chi and it works wonders for my hair! Straighteners only damage your hair if you use them every day and on really high heat. If you wash your everyday, then you might not want to straighten it everyday or it will get damaged, but if used every other day or so, it will be fine on your hair as long as it's not on really high heat.
i just use a twenty dollar one from target, but my hair is really thin. As for damaging it will hurt your hair if you use is on a very hot setting everyday and don't condition your hair. the main thing is that you can't let your hair get dry and if it does buy some leave in conditioner and spray/rub it in after you shower. It'll fix your hair pretty quick.
A Chi won't hurt your hair. Chi's have ceramic plates. Ceramic doesn't hurt your hair. The cheap straighteners have metal plates. the metal will burn your hair. a really good straightener can be good for your hair. Why do you think that it feels so good once you come back from the hair dresser?
ok anything that's hot will burn your hair

yeah if you put it on your skin and it's hot, why wouldn't it do that to your hair??

well, actually, if you use a conditioner, (i do) your hair will stay healthy

    any kind works the same...

the brand doesn't matter, just the name-brands are more expensive

i bought mine at wal mart and it works great!
    hi.

when my hair was long i use to straighten it everyday, and i would use it at the highest setting...

    my hair isn't damaged[i'm asian]

but my friend also uses it everyday...

and her hair just doesnt have the right shine anymore.

but there are other ways to straighten your hair!

    try getting a permenant straightning..

    but there kinda expensive.
i am a stylist of 12 yrs and i feel that chi's are great, if u have 100 bucks to spend on one, but if you dont, gold n hot are excellent and so are tourmalines. also anything with ions are good. it wont be as damaging if u use heat protecting shampoos, conditioners and lotions. honestly it all starts from the shampoo.
Yes, they do burn your hair over a certain amount of time. Everyday usage is going to fry your hair. If you use it any when you have to and throw your hair up on weekends it wont. Chi is not the best straightener to use, there are actually some pretty good ones at target!
I have a paul mitchell and my sister has a ghd straightener.A few of my friends had a chi and i dont think it made a difference on their hair. If you straighten your hair it will break it off and fry it.Straighten it like every other day and use heat protectent
well tha chi is the best one....i straighten my hair almost every day, and its not damaged. but to protect it, i use a product called silk therapy and you put that through your hair before you straighten it.

    check this website out:

    http://www.squidoo.com/chi-flat-irons
Jose Eber has really good straighteners... I recently bought one

and it doesn't damage it... instead it makes my hair nice and silky...and it actually stays straight !

    (=

they aren't in a store... you can find them at a cart in the middle of your malll ..
i had a chi and it only lasted about 6th months and i have decently thick hair. i now use a sedu straightener and it is amazing!!
straightners do not burn you hair but ur parents are right it damages it....it makes it look dry and unhealthy.....i straighten my hair but to make it look smooth and nice.....i use a spray called pantene protective spray it works

    i hope this helps

    delia!
Well, I use the chi too... I have thick, curly hair, pain in the butt. Anyway, it doesn't really burn your hair if you only straighten it wet... Oh, the Chi is really good...
If you have straight hair why need to straighten it? and yes it does damage hair. I straighten my hair everyday and my hair is dry, split ended, and heat damaged.
CHI TURBO!!! i have it and its amazinggg asnwer mine?http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?/a>
most straiqhtenersz destroy your hairr but theresz thisz 100% ceramic one tht makesz it ODEEE perfect

    iforqot wht itsz called.
ive been straigntening my hair for like 4 years straight everyday with a Chi straightener

my hairs fine, but im not sure. if your gunna get one, get a chi.
Just be sure to look after your hair, use heat protection spray when straightening, have it cut often to prevent split ends etc and you should be fine!
A Chi's the best but also very expensive as far as specialty tools go.
    Coniar.
I straighten my bangs every day, it doesn't damage it so much but yeah it makes you get split ends faster.
The chi is the best my moms works on hair thats all she buys it's expensive but it works
