Well I have heard people telling me that using a hair straightener can damage and dry out your hair if you use it too much. But I have been using one for over two years and nothing has happened to my hair. It isn't at all dry out nor does it seem like it has any spilt ends. I use it literally everyday and it's a cheap one I got from Wal-Mart, I don't use any protection for damaged hair or anything of that sort. I don't even use any special kind of shampoo,
So I was wondering does the hair gradually get damaged overtime or am I just lucky?Hair Straightener question?
everybody's hair is different. me personally i can't use the cheap versions, i use my CHI faithfully because it's an authentic ceramic straightener %26amp; my hair is fairly weak (jade straighteners are good too). my sister on the other hand has no problem using the cheap ones. if you're not having any problems, then you're probably just blessed. i would recommend that you do use a good conditioner or moisturizer on your hair regularly...don't wait until you start to see damage to try %26amp; fix it...IT'S HARDER THAT WAY!Hair Straightener question?
i think your pretty lucky. i don't know how old you are, but generally as you get older, your hair gets more brittle. and not immediatley or anything, but it does happen. your hair is probably just really healthy and able to hangdle it. i never had any problems with mine or anything. mine was a cheap one from walgreen's. but i did make sure i got a ceramic one! it's a lot less damaging. if you ever decide to color your hair, then you definitley need to rethink this. if yoru hair does start to get damaged, or if you really start to worry about this, then get a spray in conditioner, spray it in yrou hair while your hair is wet, then straighten your hair normally when it's dry. your helathy hair might be because of what you eat, also. or if you rinse your hair in cold water before you get out of the shower. there are so many factors taht could contribute to the overall healthyness of your hair, that i can't really tell you. so keep doing what yoru doing for now. it sound like it's working for you. i hope it continues to work for you.
p.s. sorry if this is really weird and confusing. it's 1 in the morning and i'm a little tired right now, and therefore not thinking as clearly. hope you can understand my rambles!
It is probably that you are damaging your hair slowly, thats the higher chance anyway. or you could just have extremely long hair.
I've used my hair straghtener nearly every day for the past 2 years too and i've had no problems
but i condition my hair everyday if you dont condition i suggest you start bcause your hair will most likely get damaged over time if you dont
your hair is most likely gonna start getting a lot of split ends and thing like that.
when that happens your gonna regret never putting anything on ur hair
so i suggest u star immediately
Gradually...same with dying your hair.
I am like you. I use one everyday too
I don't damage my hair, but I do use
lots of pruducts, along with a special
shampoo for my hair (and conditioner)
because it is coloured. I get lots of split
ends.. but that not from the straightener.
Mine is a conair.. but I heard if you cold-
blow dry hair after you straighten it, it helps
restore your hair. So that it doesn't fry. I tryed
it, and I noticed a small difference. Theres lots
of products you can use to keep hair from dry-
ing out.
