Go the folica.com website and get the Solia Tourmaline Ceramic flat iron for $88. Its highly rated and works well to straighten and defrizz your hair.
John Frieda has a range of hair products that works well at keeping your hair soft. Try the Daily Nourishing spray before drying your hair. The solia straightener also makes your hair soft and silky due tot he tourmaline particles in the iron.Good yet affordable hair straightener???
I've tried CHI (not available with tourmaline), and FHI, but my ultimate favorite is the Sedu Original Model 1 1/2'; (not the new Revolution model). It costs $115 on Folica.com with free shipping and a 2 year warranty. There is a 1'; model that runs for $108. Folica.com is the ONLY online retailers of Sedu products.
The Sedu flat irons have ceramic/tourmaline plates, which emit loads of negative ions and infrared heat. This type of heat is less damaging than that of regular ceramic plates. Plus, Sedu flat irons have super shiny scratch-resistant plates that glide through your hair like butter - no kidding! I looove mine so much and will never stray from it! :o)
Before I flat iron, I apply CHI Silk Infusion to my hair. You can use Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum too. If you prefer a spray, I've used Nexxus Heat Protexx and Nexxus Sleek Memory. After flat ironing, my hair is sooo soft, silky, and shiny. I don't even need a finishing product. If you really want a finishing product, you could use a shine spray. A good and cheap drugstore one is L'oreal Glass Shine because it doesn't weigh your hair down or make it look greasy. If you color your hair I would recommend Pureology Glossing Mist. It's more expensive, but it's designed to keep your hair from fading due to sun exposure. Plus, it protects your hair from UV damage.
Oh, one more thing! Sedu changed all their flat irons so that they now come with strong, thick, and straight cords that don't swivel and cause shorts like the CHI's do. So good!

I recommend you get a 100% ceramic one. You can find some at Sally Beauty or Ulta for around $70 bucks. These are the best you can get for ceramic. If you absolutely cannot afford that, try the Remington Teflon Iron if you must get a drugstore iron. Just make sure you use a heat protectant first (try Tresemme Heat Tamer Spray or Matrix Sleek Look Iron Smoother). The best products for after are Tresemme Ultra Light European Shine Spray or Biosilk Silk Therapy Serum (pricey but lasts long and smells AWESOME). Another tip is to make sure you straighten on a high heat (350 degrees or above). Anything lower and style will not stand up to the humidity.
Frizz: try a smoothing serum or gloss drops when your hair is still damp (Paul Mitchell and CHI have good ones)
Straightener: A CHI for sure. It really is worth the money. In addition, use a heat protectant to keep your hair from burning up when you straighten it.
If you use those two things I can guarantee your hair will look great! But keep in mind that damage needs to be trimmed regularly, that causes frizz too.
chi is one of the best straightners you can get. its a little bit more expensive but its a really good investment. i dont know how close you are to your hair stylist but they usually get discounts on those kinds of things. you could see if she could buy it direct and you could just give her the money for it. its cheaper because you're cutting out the middle man
I have a Remington Wet to Straight and it is god sent. I know Chi's are better but for 30 dollars you can't do better. My hair straightened for nothing before I bought this one. I don't use it on wet hair but it will work. It gets to around 415 degrees so its really strong. You seriously should try it you will not regret it.
Sedu. I have curly hair and had been using a cheap flat iron. It was giving me hair breakage and drying my hair out. I bought the Sedu hair straightener a few months ago. It is easy to use, leaves my hair shiny and ';dead straight'; within 5 minutes of use (after blow drying).
the wet 2 staight works amazing and only 22$
and after spray use bed heads,';after party'; smoothing gel
biosilk by farouk and get a chi its worth the money
chi.
check at like cvs or target they had cheap %26amp; really good straightners ! : )
look from conair they are really good and not too much money
For years I have always kept my hair short. The longer it grew the curlier it got. The sides would puff out and curl which gave me a look that was undesirable. After many attempts to straighten the sides, using numerous products all of which never worked. After a few hours the curl just came back and looked goofy. I read many reviews, seeing all who posted pictures and wondered, is this for real? Very skeptical I purchased one and couldn't wait to use it. Well, I can assure you that my first use took very little time and found it to be easy to use. Every unwanted curl targeted is gone with soft straight sides that flow back and stay straight. This is the best hair straightening system on the market as far as I am concerned and will never use anything else again.
I should tell everyone that finishing crçĞme is necessary if you want silky soft hair. I usually take my shower in the morning daily, shampoo with MATRIX sleek.look, condition leaving it in for at least two minutes, rinsing it completely out, towel drying then sleek.look smoothing system Lite #3. Putting a small dab working it into my hair, blow-drying by sectioning out layers with a separating brush. I try and not get it two dry, as this will dry out areas to be heated with the straitening iron. Once this is completed I style my hair using a paddle brush, apply just a little hair spray and off I go. My hair is smooth, soft and silky but more importantly straight.
