Want to purchase SEDU hair straightener... is it right for me?

I want to purchase a SEDU hair flattener and I have medium/thick wavy hair and it's about chin length. It frizzes like CRAZY when the weather gets humid and I live in Toronto, Ontario so it's usually pretty humid here.



I want to know if I can rely on a SEDU 1'; to both straighten my hair AND curl my hair when needed. From personal experience or if anybody knows someone who has one, would you recommend this straightener to me? What products should accompany this straightener? I know you have to protect your hair from the heat damage but I don't know what good products for this are.



Also, are 1'; plates good enough? Should I go bigger? Obviously, I'm a complete newbie when it comes to straighteners :]Want to purchase SEDU hair straightener... is it right for me?

Above average: Chi, Hai, Paul Mitchell,



Average: T3, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss



Below Average: Conair, Vidal Sassoon, Revlon, Bed Head etc. These are cheap consumer brands that you will find in drugstore. If you care about your hair, do NOT buy them.

Q: What size should I choose?



A: For most people, 1';, 1-1/4'; or 1.5'; are all good choices. If you have very thick, coarse, long or ethic hair, bigger size (1.5'; or 2';) will save you some time. If you have thin, fine hair, get a smaller one (1'; or 3/4';).



Q: What temperature should I should on my hair?



A: Based on my expereince, 380F is the average temperature to use. If you hair is thick and coarse, bump it up a bit, if you hair is fine or overprocessed, start it at somewhere 300F, and try it. If the setting does not work well for you, increase a bit until you get a setting that works well for you but does not burn your hair. Trial and error.

the sedu straightener is great, i have one and my big-hair problems have been solved. as for protectants, i use Graham Webb Heat Response Spray before i use the flat iron and Rhythm and Balance Cuticle essence after i'm finished to prevent dryness and breakage. Sedu also sells a protective spray, which i have, and i use that interchangeably with the Graham Webb product. Just remember to shake whatever spray you use thoroughly before you use it, otherwise the oil and water layers won't mix.

The sedu flat iron is completely amazing ! seriously. i loooooooove it !

it works really really well. i have thick, frizzy, wavy/curly, hair that's about 1 inch past my shoulder. I can straighten and curl my hair.
