how come some hair straighteners break off hairHair straightener and breakage?
The heat from the straightening iron lifts the hair cuticle. The hair cuticle is the outer layer of hair that protects the cortex, or inner layer. The cuticle is in scales and when the scales aren't laying down properly they get stuck in the brush and rip off. Or tension makes them seperate. The best way to prevent that is to use thermal hair protection when you flat iron. They come in spray's and creams and they protect the hair by coating the cuticle so that when the flat iron runs across the hair shaft, the cream burns instead of your hair.Hair straightener and breakage?
cause it drys and frys your hair, use a moistuizing shampoo and spray on some heat tamer before you blowdry your hair it helped mine
Okay. First of all, all straighteners break hair whether you like it or not. Blow dryers also break your hair as well. What the problem is, is that you have your setting (heat) on too high. If you lower it, you'll have less damage but on the bad side, it won't fix your hair as much. Just play around with it. And if you don't like it, go to a store that sells hair products and get yourself a straightener protection item. Just read all the bottles and you could probably find one.
Good luck!
It dries out your hair and makes it brittle...making it break
Either because you've been straightening too much, you don't use protective heat hairspray, or your straightener is over powered. Those are my guesses.
Maybe because some of the straighteners are to strong for the hair or if you straighten your hair to much that can cause it too.
Depends mostly on how hot they get. The more heat you use on your hair the more damage you cause. I would splurge a bit and get one that is adjustable so you can set it lower. I would also get a GOOOOOD conditioner and use some sort of heat protection product. Also beware if you curl (use other heat) or color your hair as this can cause additional damage.
